Lang Yarns Jawoll Silk

Lang Yarns Jawoll Silk is a yarn made of Tussah silk and Corriedale sheep wool, two fibers providing softness and resistance to the ball.

This type of silk is wild, obtained from the caterpillars and cocoons of Japanese silk moths. This fiber is stronger than mulberry silk. A cocoon usually produces a silk thread between 1,200 and 1,400 meters in length. 

To get the Corriedale wool, only the thinnest hairs are picked up during the shearing. This way we can get softer and more resistant fibers. These sheep live free in the Patagonia and their wool is very white, so it is very easy to dye and get unique colors.

Thanks to its quality and softness, Jawoll Silk is perfect to knit garments for babies, children, and adults.

Lang Yarns Jawoll Silk is made of:

• 55% wool
• 25% polyamide
• 20% silk

Which are the features of this yarn?

• Each ball has 50 grams and 200 meters.
• Its thickness is perfect to work with the 2.5 – 3 mm knitting needles or crochet hook.
• Mount 30 stitches and do 41 rows to knit a 10 x 10 cm gauge.
• Washable at up to 40ºC.
• Iron at up to 110ºC.
• Do not tumble dry.
